Won the first and second prizes in State Grid Power Transmission and Transformation Engineering Design Competition

State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company announced the list of winners in 2017 Power Transmission and Transformation Engineering Design Competition on November 20th. Our company has won the first prize in“110kV Line Engineering, Linyi-Xijiu”and the second prize in“35 kV transformer substation steps up to 110kV transformer substation, Qionglai-Xijiao, Chengdu”.

This competition is arranged by State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company, aiming at strengthening design management, improving design innovation capability and design technology. And the provincial company will award winning units who did well in works that is related to benchmarking and bidding design in electric industry.

For the design competition, we carried out 33 thematic optimizations on feasibility study. After improving, the floor area and earthwork volume surrounded by the fence have decreased by 27.45% and 76% respectively, because the optimizations considered project characteristic and took full life-cycle concept as guideline, which not only advanced substation technology, but effectively decreased cost. The whole expenditure was RMB 27.62 million. Compared with primary feasibility study investment, it reduced by 29.39%, equal to RMB 11.5 million.

Relied on the two projects, power transmission and transformation design competition has been carried out among provincial companies in 2017. After construction, it would meet the load needs for Chengdu Qionglai and improve power supply reliability and quality.
